In reply to Simon Eaton. Except TACA was nearly twice as big and had to land in stormy weather, I don't think this was solely the airports fault this time but also rather in part with the pilot. The best pilots in the world have difficulties at toncontin this pilot must have been either distracted or reckless, anyone with common sense does not underestimate toncontin. Hopefully they build the new airport soon, toncontin should be reserved for Cessna or other smaller aircraft.
