A woman from Texas who flew by private jet to join Donald Trump supporters rioting at the U. S. Capitol had one of her business signs vandalised. Jenna Ryan, a real estate broker and radio host from Frisco, flew to Washington, D. C. to "storm the Capitol". She has since faced intense backlash online for going to the protest and documenting it on social media. Five people including a police officer died after Donald Trump supporters stormed the building in Washington, D. C. on Wednesday. What began as a "Stop the Steal" demonstration, during which Trump addressed the crowds and continued to push his unfounded claims of election fraud, turned into a violent siege on Capitol Hill. Now, one of her realtor advertising signs has been vandalised in Carrollton, a city just outside of Dallas and only a few miles south of Frisco. Someone had blacked out her face and written "Trumper" and the expletives "wh***" and "c***". A photo of the trashed sign was shared on Twitter and the photographer, who wished to remain anonymous, said it was taken at around 3.30 p.m. on Sunday but by 6 p.m. it had been removed. It comes after Ryan shared a statement online to say she was invited to the march for what she thought would be a peaceful protest and that she does not support violence. She wrote: "I am a conservative Republican radio host from Dallas, Texas who loves the USA. On my show, The Jenna Ryan Show I openly discuss my political views as well as the views of others. I was invited to go to Washington D. C. by a friend to witness the march. Unfortunately, what I believed to be a peaceful political march turned into a violent protest."I do not condone the violence that occurred on January 6, 2020 and I am truly heartbroken for the people who have lost their lives. Hatred and violence toward each other are not going to solve our country's issues."As a nation, we need to come together Republican, Democrat and Independent and have an open and honest discussion about the issues in our country and resolve our issues in peace."Ryan had come under fire after flying to D. C. in a private jet and documenting the protest online. Along with a photo that showed her next to a jet at US Trinity Aviation in Denton, Texas, she wrote: "Hopping on a plane heading to DC #MarchToSaveAmerica #stopthesteal."On Facebook, Ryan livestreamed the walk to Capitol Hill, saying: "All these working-class people taking the week off … We flew here for freedom. They want to steal the election, they want to steal everything."The conservative radio host also posted a photo of herself in front of a broken window at the Capitol, with the caption: "Window at The capital. And if the news doesn't stop lying about us we're going to come after their studios next."Later, she wrote on Twitter: "We just stormed the capital. It was one of the best days of my life." Newsweek has contacted Ryan for comment.

A real estate broker from Frisco, Texas, flew on a private jet to Washington, DC, along with friends to “storm the Capitol” on Wednesday.

Jenna Ryan, who is also a radio host, flew from US Trinity Aviation in Denton, Texas, all they way to the nation’s Capitol — where she had “one of the best days of my life.”

“Hopping on a plane heading to DC march to save America stop the steal,” she wrote in the caption of a photo on the tarmac.

When the interviewer asks Copeland to explain a previous comment he had made, referring to human beings as “demons” to justify his use of a private jet, the preacher gets angry. “Do you really believe that human beings are demons?” she asked. “No, I do not and don’t you ever say I did,” Copeland responded as he pointed his finger at her for several tense seconds."*

CNBC's Robert Frank reports on the surge in demand for private jet flights as the wealthy avoid commercial flights.

The private-jet industry is seeing a rapid rebound from the coronavirus crisis, as new customers who had never flown private splurge to avoid the crowds and lines of commercial flying.

While commercial traffic is running about 15% to 17% of last year’s totals, private flights are running at up to 70% or more of normal, according to industry data and Private Jet Card Comparisons. Some private-jet charter companies are even running above their year-ago numbers. The growth is being driven almost entirely by new customers drawn to flying private because of health concerns and lower jet prices.

New customer sign-ups with industry leader NetJets in May were more than double the typical May, according to Pat Gallagher, the company’s president of sales, marketing and service. May was the biggest month for new clients since December 2007, which had been the industry’s previous peak.

PrivateFly, the private-jet charter broker, saw an 85% rise in inquiries in the first two weeks of June compared with the same period last year. Sentient Jet, part of Directional Aviation, said that of the more than 5,000 jet hours the company has sold since the beginning of April, half came from new customers.

Vista Jet, the global charter company, is back to about 85% of its pre-pandemic traffic in the U.S., according to CEO Thomas Flohr. He said 71% of all new customers are people who never had private-jet programs or memberships before.

While business travel remains almost nonexistent, private-jet companies say personal travel by wealthy affluent fliers — many of them older — have more than taken up the slack. They say that while many families who could afford to fly private couldn’t justify the costs, they are willing to spend the extra money for greater health safety.

“What we are seeing today is predominantly personal travel with people traveling to see loved ones, moving between homes and otherwise looking for an escape from wherever they have been hunkered down through the pandemic,” NetJets’ Gallagher said.

Blade, a private-aviation company that runs choppers and planes, said its private-jet charter business is up over 600% from last year, and over 70% of the business is customers who had never chartered. The most popular routes for fliers are New York to South Florida, and New York or the Northeast to Los Angeles.

Blade says health concerns are the top concern of customers, and the company has created a vast array of special health and safety measures — including allowing passengers to drive right up to the plane on the tarmac where certain airports allow. Passengers are given temperature checks and oximeter checks, and jets are fumigated and decontaminated with special machines. Some passengers ask pilots not to exit the cockpit without first texting passengers — and many passengers are bringing their own food and beverages so they don’t have to interact with crew.

NetJets says it is spending over $1 million a month on keeping its aircraft interiors virus-free and is testing all of its crew members and is clustering its aircraft at base locations to enable crew to travel to their planes in their own cars rather than having to fly commercial. It is also treating its jet cabins with an “antimicrobial barrier” that provides long-term protection from bacteria germs and viruses.
