@AviationIsMyLife not according to the FAA. This is only legal in a few countries. Most countries require the pilot to pass a commercial test, and the plane and company pass commercial tests, and have commercial insurance.
Sharing us legal in the USA if you are all going to the same place for the same reason, and the FAA has ruled that this type of sharing (wingly) is not legal, and insurance companies will not cover anyone on such a flight.
It is legal in the UK. But since the plane and pilot are not commercial, you should check the pilot and plane for insurance.
Don’t be like that footballer who is at the bottom of the channel, and hid family got no recompense.

In reply to akber360. There are no insurance or training requirements, so please use due diligence, find out how much time they have in the plane and what insurance they have.
