Critics of the Belarusian regime have questioned Mikail Gutseriev’s extensive business dealings there, and his use of London as a legal vehicle to channel investments into the country.

They are demanding the British Government and the European Union investigate connections between London and Minsk, and impose sanctions on any oligarchs they accuse of having a close relationship with a dictator accused of vile human rights abuses. For the Gutserievs, it is all a far cry from the frivolity and splendour of that Moscow wedding.

According to official documents lodged at Companies House, Mr Gutseriev and his son Said have the controlling interest in GCM Global Energy PLC, a business registered at an address in Westminster in Central London, and which has ploughed hundreds of millions of pounds into the country.

GCM Global has a number of interests in Belarus, including a deal for a £1bn potash factory that is due to open next year. Mr Gutseriev is also chairman of Russneft, one of Russia’s biggest oil companies, which at the turn of the year became the sole Russian supplier of oil to Belarus.

Said Gutseriev, 32, who lived in London for 17 years until 2014, last year set up Currency.com, a cryptocurrency exchange business based in Minsk. Forbes estimates that Said Gutseriev is worth $1.1bn, and his father twice that.

While airports dedicated to business aviation are generally considered a great boon to private travelers, they don’t always enjoy the best of relations with their neighbors. The threat to close the Los Angeles-area Santa Monica Airport is a prime example of this dilemma, but it doesn’t have to be this way, as we found while visiting london.

Biggin Hill Airport enjoys a prime location, within easy reach the heart of the U.K. capital, and offers six-minute helicopter shuttle transfers into the city. It competes with other London area airports, including Farnborough, Luton, London City, Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow.

The airport needed the support of the local community in what is a densely populated London suburb to get permission to extend hours, and it doesn’t take that for granted. The prospect of creating more local jobs was a big factor, and that in part came from the opening of new aircraft maintenance facilities, including Bombardier’s new European service center.

The updated Learjet 75 Liberty does benefit from new avionics, winglets, and two powerful engines that use less fuel whilst delivering a longer range. The Learjet 75 Liberty has a cruising speed of 465 kn (535 mph, 861 km/h) and a range of 2,040 nmi (2,350 mi, 3,780 km) with a maximum altitude of 51,000 ft (16,000 m).

The average private jet cost millions of dollars to own and maintain each year. But some older light to mid size jets actually cost less than one may think. The private jets listed in this video are all aircrafts you can find for sale at less that a million dollars. The airplanes listed here are:

1. Cessna Citation Mustang (2007 – 2008) – $950,000
The citation mustang was Cessnas main very light jet until a year ago when they stopped manufacturing this airplane. For the last decade though, the Citation mustang has been one of the most popular small private jets in the industry. The airplane will cruise at close to 400 miles per hour and you can fly up to 6 people in the aircraft. Depending on load, you can travel up to 1300 miles.

2. Eclipse 500 Jet (2006 – 2008) – $500,000 – $700,000
Also a very light jet, the eclipse 500 has some respectable performance numbers. A bit faster than the citation mustang, the eclipse 500 also boast better fuel economy at some levels. Although since the newer generation eclipse 550 came out plus the introduction of other light jets like the cirrus sf50, the 500 have dropped even further in price.

3. Citation Bravo II (1979 – 1982)
Here is one of Cessnas oldest model class of jets. The citation brave have been around since the 70s, and even newer models that may have improved interior and or avionics, the performance have remained somewhat the same. And the design of the aircraft is still same as it was 30 years ago. Right now, the earliest models of this jet can be bought for $400,000 to $500,000.

4. Learjet 31A (1992 – 1997)
Private jet from bombardier, the 31A model is a superb aircraft with great performance. One that will carry up to 11 people on board and travel over 500 miles per hour. Get your hands on one for less than $400,000

5. Learjet 24D (1966 – 1974)
Also from bombardier. This is quite vintage, but still a great looking and performing jet if you can find one. Probably will need some renovations or restoration, but for $150,000 purchase price to own a private jet? well you decide.
