I spent 32 years as ATC Specialist. It was a pleasure watching you work. Thanks for the ride!
Have you ever gone through your preflight checklist and had a problem that had you concerned enough to cancel your flight?
This all sounds like gibberish in regards to all the stuff over radio. How long did it take for you decipher it?
When they give a long instruction… “Roger.” Hahaha Love it. When are we gonna go fly again?!
If I bring the vegemite, will you take me flying with you, Josh? 😉
Hi Josh! Soon….let’s make it happen. I’ll get with you.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video… love
Dream job. In your own office, no chit chatting and small talk with coworkers, just you, the machine and the sky.
The words “dream” and “job” should never be in the same sentence, in my opinion.
and his wife between cuts – in fact you have to speak to more people flying than you do in the office lol
@NonyaBusiness! there pretty close together . a flock of birds would take em out. ive seen plenty engines torn to shreds in my day
I love this watch. I just need lots of money to travel like this. 🤣
Incognito12000 agreed. Just me and small chit chat.
I give pilots respect! That seems like an awful lot of stuff to have to remember.
LOL its real easy until something goes wrong, then is when you find out if you have the right stuff
It seems daunting if you don’t understand. Some people panic on radio. But honestly once you go into training it’s second nature. And like of fitness says you don’t have to pay attention to anyone else’s direction. Just yours and scan for other traffic and any any directions to look for specific aircraft in vicinity.
There are many pilots in the air.ATC stays in contact with all pilots. The only calls u have to pay attention to are those directed towards your aircraft.
its like an automatic pilot
Trevor Mandra it’s repetitive. It is really not that bad! Try it out!!!
I always wanted to be a pilot! At 71 I guess I’ll just have to fly along with him and think I’m his co-pilot!!
Best line of the whole video: “Of course, the F-16 had a waiver.”
Yeah, that waiver pretty much covers the entire US Fleet, and during National Emergency, the (ahem) Mach1 waiver is also in effect.
@Bruce Kirk no kidding. Who woulda guessed. Lol.
I think military vehicles have precedent over civilian aircraft
chuck miller same?
Reference to the F-16 waiver is at 25:38
The tower communications are really freaky. How they understand whats being said seems impossible 😂🤷🏻♂️. This is really cool stuff.
Reading the comments makes me think I should make a YouTube video on Terminal ATC.
What is RNAV?
Who is Dorset?
What’s in a taxi clearance and where is the taxi? 😆
it helps to know exactly what you’re expecting to hear, and then to hear it its easy.
He’s probably been doing this for 38 years. It gets much easier the more you do it.
I can understand it but I speak quite fast anyway
Practice
“F16 had a waiver on that”… I laughed. Great video.
Premier is an absolutely gorgeous looking aircraft.
New subscriber; not a pilot. I have watched several of your videos, but this is my first comment. I find your videos interesting, informative, and fascinating. I have learned about the process of flying; from pre-flight, to controllers, to navigating into and out of airports. You fly with a precision, an exactness, a discipline that I do not see on other YouTube channels. This combined with a pleasant presentation style make it a pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing.
Dang, I kind of want to know what DB said lol
@Tracey Wu caption said “rip they’re gonna jerk off mike maintain three servers are not the greater” at 22:02
@D B TELL EM !!! HECK YEAH!!!
@D B Tell us more about YOU. The Concorde was my most enjoyable flight so many years ago. I didn’t make it into space yet. I would love to learn more about your history and experiences. If this is not the forum for that then we can communicate via other methods. Please advise and thank you.
D B : Invented the superthermawanking machine.
It’s definitely a dream of mine to be able to take my family across the country on my own jet.
Love the IWC. Just picked one up myself.
Youtube recommended this. I watched. Good stuff. Safe landings!
That was beautiful flying over the Gulf! Love to see Premier 1 Rider again!
@bmay81 Check out their website!! Looks like a really great company doing really great things. https://www.modulardevices.com/our-team/greg-mink
@Brian Streufert ok. That makes perfect sense then. I won’t complain I’m sure it took a lot of work to build up a company. And smart choice. The medical industry in our country has lots of money to be made. I’m all for improving medical technology too. Just hopefully the technology can reduce costs at the same time.
@bmay81 He owns a medical devices company in Indiana. They design and build mobile/ temporary medical imaging suites for hospitals/etc. He uses the jet to fly directly to customer sites instead of relying on the airlines. If you think about it, it’s pretty smart. As well, you can bury the operating expenses into the price of the projects. The per-mile cost to fly your own jet vs an airline, it becomes a major cost savings once you fly more than one person. It all hinges on not having a pilot on staff. In this case, the business owner is the pilot and he is one of the passengers. Pretty smart if you asked me.
@Brian Streufert That makes more sense! but damn they got some $$$$$$ private jet fly to anywhere in the US often?. Sounds good.
@bmay81 Thats his wife and thats his plane.
wow would it be nice if you could raffle out that co-pilot seat ….first class???
that would be a dream ride
Getting money for taking people up doesn’t seem to be Greg’s style. It would cheapen the experience.
P1D – Do you happen to know Viper up in Chesterton?
If you are in the States and reach out to Greg he may just take you for a ride. He takes his viewers up quite often. He seems to be a really awesome guy and loves to share his passion for aviation.
Great video, and what a busy ATC, thanks!
flew just to the left of my house in Naples.
Another good one Greg. Really like the multiple views on takeoff and landing. Pretty soon you can go to Hollywood and be professional film editor!
Ha! We both called out the Honda Jet at the same time! Great vid, Thank you for sharing!
