You can use Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), but it's not your only choice.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is only 3 miles south of the capitol. It is subject to more security oversight, however, so you may need to enroll in the TSA's DC Access Standard Security Program before landing or taking off.

Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) is close enough to DC to use for your private charter needs. It's 33 miles from DC and is serviced by Signature Flight Support. It has runways ranging in length from 5,000 feet to 10,500 feet.

Manassas Regional Airport (HEF) is 28 miles southwest of DC. If you fly into this airport you won't have to worry about slotting for landing behind commercial flights. It's serviced by APP Jet Center and Chantilly Air Jet Center, and has runways of 6,200 feet and 3,715 feet.
