Can a Cirrus SR22 private aircraft beat a commercial jet like Ryanair?

We fly a Cirrus SR22T aircraft from Portugal to the UK to see if it is faster than flying on a commercial airliner. We have to stop for fuel and also lunch but from door to door which is the best way to travel?

I think the three hours before departure at international airports is nothing but a rort to make people spend more in the airport shops.
On this video. You so needed sleep at the end. Lol. Great video. Brilliant
Thanks Andrew
Hey Antony, really enjoy your videos even when you pop up in other channels 🙂 Just wondering regarding aircraft registration…you have an N (USA) registered aircraft operating in the UK and Europe…how does that all fit together?
Cheers 🙂
Yeah it’s a N reg because I have a FAA IR so need an American aircraft, it’s what a lot of Cirrus pilots do in Europe.
I do now have an EASA IR so could fly either but I like the more common sense approach to flying and air regulations that you get in the USA vs the UK.
French are always striking or on lunch.
I am French and sadly agree 🙁 I almost fought with 50 yellow vest all around me kicking my car. I left this country and now live happily in northern Europe for this exact reason.
It’s true, flying across the channel at 1pm there are no controllers on. Gets to 2pm and they arrive back. Hilarious and happened on more than one occasion.
C’mon you are hurting me , I’m French!
Great Vlog!
Thankyou for posting. Really enjoyed that Antony. That Cirrus is a beautiful plane. Are you going to be looking for something else when the little one arrives?
Antony, the boat has to go mate. 😉 On a serious note how long ago did you start your PPL and when did you get your IR ? Oh, and tell your mate Ben he’s a slacker and put some more video’s out.
Great video, how pathetic that you can’t get fuel because someone is having his dinner, fly safe, love the videos : )
Karl pilkington in a plane
Enjoyed the video…Stay safe.
Brilliant video!!!
Cracking video! Is that a Burnley accent?
Yup, the queens English 🙂
How come you never used oxygen and flew up at higher levels?
Alison was pregnant plus it’s not really that nice having to wear the cannulas or masks. Really you’d want a pressurised cabin.
Enjoying the vlogs – esp with the flying involved 😉 What ratings do you have?
I really enjoy your flying videos, they are really good! Cirrus aircraft are just beautiful and seem really modern and proficient.
i have a few questions, if you didn’t fly a cirrus what other aircraft would you have considered? Also if you don’t mind saying how much does a refuel cost you ?
This is cool. Nice one. You seen like a very calm pilot.
Nice video, and that Cirrus SR22 it’s so nice wao. Just subscribe to your channel. Thanks!!! you guys have thumbs up.
When did you last use a whizz wheel? 😉
VR Goggles – Check
Cirrus aircraft – Pending
Great Video.
Why was it leaking.?
Forgive my ignorance. How can u just decide to take a cirrus and fly it one way? Or do u live in Portugal? Syndicate style? I’m a little confused.
Cheers
Not being Antony I can’t give the definite answer but from watching the video he had to come back to Balckpool for a meeting and left the kids there with his or his wife’s parents (assume they live there) so it was never going to be a one way flight as the Cirrus is based at his home airport Blackpool
